More than 20 countries in Andina Pack 2019, the leading packaging fair in the region

With more than 20 participating countries, the fifteenth edition of the Andina Pack fair returns to Corferias, the only commercial platform in Latin America for training and experience in the packaging and packaging technologies sector, which year after year it is consolidated as the ideal scenario for investors and entrepreneurs to find the best sector.

Doris Chingaté, project manager of the event, reveals that “in this new version we will have more than 525 exhibitors of which 60% are international, corresponding to delegations from countries such as Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China,  Chile, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Holland, India, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Spain, South Korea, Turkey, United States, and Venezuela. ”

She added that Andina Pack will have specialized sectors such as food, drinks, pharmaceutical and cosmetic, processing technology, packaging, plastic, graphic sector, among others.

During the four days of the fair, Andina Pack will have a large academic agenda that will be held in the Corferias Main Auditorium under the name of 'The Packaging & Processing Summit 2019' with the following thematic axes: Regulatory Affairs, Safety, Packaging, Innovation  and Materials, Sustainability and Sustainability with the participation of national and international speakers.

In addition, there will be the Innovation Capsule in which 20 projects will be exhibited, which are chosen prior to an enrollment process that has been carried out since August, with the support of the University of Los Andes and its Innovandes program.  In this space visibility will be given to the technologies, products and processes developed by the different exhibitors, which add value with innovations for sustainable consumption and circular economy, increasing the options for responsible use for the end user.

Social responsability

Thanks to the movement in global trends in social responsibility, the fair will feature three projects that will introduce visitors to the processes of plastic transformation.  One of these projects shows plastic not as garbage, but as raw material for plastic wood used in the construction of urban furniture.

Another of the proposals will be to make use of a single container for cleaning products, motivating the purchase and re-packaging of these from the first time.  Refill is a venture that seeks to recycle, reuse, reuse and repackage the main cleaning products, based on a real commitment to the planet.

Corferias Alliance - Koelnmesse

According to Chingaté, “this alliance with Koelnmesse has been worked on since 2015 and materialized in 2017, allowing the consolidation of a presence of international exhibitors of around 60% and, in turn, generating a constant permanence in the market, the implementation  of novelties in the business productivity of the country and the visibility of international standards, which have undoubtedly focused on innovation and achieving better quality in the developments of the sector ”.

Results from the previous edition

The last version of the fair was attended by 503 exhibitors (17% more than the 2015 version) from 27 countries, who presented their products and solutions for the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, in Bogotá, Colombia.

With a 53% share and a 32% increase compared to the immediately previous edition, more companies attended from abroad.  18,062 visitors from 30 countries benefited from the unique access to innovations, trends and market solutions.

The exhibitors underlined in particular the high quality of commercial visitors and the potential to realize business.  The exhibition space in Andina Pack grew a total of 18%, while the participation of foreign companies grew a total of 17%.
